I build my computers from scratch, finding the highest performance parts and then putting them together to build the fastest computer know to man (for the 5 minutes that lasts). I don't screw around with these projects and tend to go balls-to-the-wall - probably a little too overboard, but a little excess once in a while is good for you. Plus, I make my living on the things so like any professional you tend to use the best tools available. Fast and well running computers save you time and money.

Here's a tip: never skimp on your monitor, I've got a 26" LCD (IPS panel) and for the average person you should have nothing smaller than a 22"-24" screen, a basic 24" screen is only aout$300 these days. Spend less money on the hard drive space or CPU, the monitor you'll actually notice!
